Steve Holloway's drumming career has spanned a wide variety of musical
experiences in many diverse genres for over twenty years. He began studying
drums at the age of eight, playing in clubs at fourteen and was an active
member of different dance, jazz and rock bands throughout high school and
college. After graduating from University of Northern Colorado with a
major in music, Steve began his career as a full time professional drummer.
Steve has recorded and toured with numerous Irish artists, such as Solas,
Mary Rafferty, Martin and Marie Rielly, The McCabes, Karen Casey, Brian
Kennedy, Cathie Ryan, Jerry O'Sullivan and Whirligig. He has also performed
live with Saemus Egan and appeared with him on the Arista Records release,
"The Brother’s McMullen" which sold over 100,000 copies and remained on the
world music charts for more than a year. More recently, Steve has played
drums, percussion and bodhran on the Broadway production of "Riverdance"
and has appeared with the national touring company of RENT. Steve’s
percussion experiences have also included working with the late jazz
cornetist Nat Adderley, singer/ songwriter Jill Sobule, and flatpicker
John Carlini.
